Questions

Why do most outdoor saunas need 240V?

Outdoor cabins are bigger and lose heat to the weather, so they need larger heaters. Nearly every stove-and-stones heater above about 2 kW needs 240V.

Does an outdoor outlet need anything special?

It should be GFCI-protected and weatherproof, and the cord must reach without an extension cord.
