Space it needs = the cabin plus the maker's clearance at the sides, back and top (2″ where the maker publishes none). * The spec has gaps; the model page says which.
Not always. Of the 10 one-person models here, six plug into a normal 120V outlet (the Peak Saunas Mini, the SaunaBox Solara, the Peak Saunas Shasta, the Peak Saunas Rainier, the Clearlight Premier IS-1 and the Clearlight Sanctuary 1), three need a dedicated 120V / 20A outlet (the Sun Home Solstice 1, the Sun Home Pod and the Sunlighten mPulse Aspire), and one needs 240V wired in by an electrician (the SaunaBox Forge). The Peak Saunas Mini, the Peak Saunas Shasta and the Peak Saunas Rainier list a standard household plug but not the amps, so confirm with the seller. Even on a normal outlet, makers recommend the sauna has the circuit to itself.
From 35″ × 34″ of floor for the Peak Saunas Mini to 47″ × 50″ for the Clearlight Sanctuary 1. That's the outside size plus the gap makers ask for at the sides and back. For the ceiling, the SaunaBox Solara gets by with 65″; the Sunlighten mPulse Aspire needs the most, 84½″, counting the gap its maker asks for above the roof.
Not always. Three cabins sold as "1–2 person" are smaller than some true one-person models: the Dynamic Gracia at 39½″ × 36″ (smaller than 8 of the 10), the Dynamic Barcelona at 39″ × 38″ (smaller than 8 of the 10) and the Sunray Sedona at 36″ × 42″ (smaller than 7 of the 10). Two adults will be a tight fit in them. We count them as two-seat models, so they're on the two-person pages, not this one.
